It’s freakin’ APRIL! Gah… It’s been nearly shorts-weather for the past week, few weeks, and now its just as white outside as February… Ew… It’s not even cold enough! It’s still kind of warm out…
Whatever.
I feel I owe you, dear reader, an apology.
It seems my “update” yesterday was more of a rant than an honest, all encompassing, update. And I am sorry…
Sure, some bad stuff has gone down, but things have been on the up ‘n up too. And here’s where I get to boast…
I got my first check from SmugMug over break. Eight-Hundred Dollars! I already tripled what I made from my photography through the entirety of last year!!
Unfortunately, I am in a bit of a lul right now, but hey, cash is cash… Right?
If you live in Maine, anywhere in Maine, and need an event photographer, wedding photographer, portrait photographer, Bar/Bat Mitzvah photographer, whatever… Contact Me. Rates are reasonable, and my photos. Check them out for yourself at CoverThis, TrekLens and at this site’s gallery…
Actually, I am offering free portrait photography while I am attending NESCOM, if you are either in Bangor, or willing to travel to Bangor, Maine. So again, Contact Me.
The second greatest thing to happen over the past few weeks is I applied to become an RA this coming fall… How hot is that!?
It turns out that living off campus wasn’t as hot an idea as I had thought it was… The numbers seemed to work out when I did the math, I should have saved money, but to be honest, I have never had so much money pass through my hands as I have these past few months… And it’s not for simply “living on my own.”
When I buy my own food, do my own business, I am fine. Evidently I am a Bargain Shopper Extraodinair… It’s when I have to pay for meals on campus, all the damn gas for driving back and forth to Brunswick, and all the crap I have gotten myself into over forever ago… Then it gets pricey…
Getting a little organization in my life, I am using some new accounting software, Buddi, to manage my finances, and I am using the hell out of iCal to manage my time… Its working wonderfully so far. Wish me luck…
I find out about the RA position sometime this week… I am kind of confident about it… I am an Eagle Scout, I’ve got alot of background working with people… We’ll see.
We had a group interview the first day back. There were four groups, of nine perspective RAs each. There are three resident halls on campus, with eight RAs per hall, and one RD. This means there were 12 extra students at the group interview…
. . .
Maybe I’m a bit full of myself… But I’m pretty sure I’ve got a bit more behind me than the bottom 12… Yeah….
I’m a Fonero! I got my free Fon router over break. I will be installing it at the beach this summer, and making mad cash… Yeah… Mad… Cash…
Well… Probably not, but still, its pretty bad ass…
And finally, I am featured again! Lovin’ it…
There is this new screen they installed just outside the Willey Cafe, and on it, as well as the few screens inside the cafe, the only things they’ve been displaying are slide shows of past events. Which is fine… On the small screens inside the cafe. However, the big screen is a rather large wide screen display in landscape mode (vertical) and the images are crazy squished. Not to mention it should be used for grander things…
And that is where I come in. I decided to challenge myself and make some posters for the beauty. At first is was just for fun. Took some photos, did them up. Made about 20. Then I pitched them. At the moment, only three are used… However, come this Wednesday/Thursday (when they get put in front of the Student Senate and Social Committee, respectively [both of which I am now a part of]), there should be a few more up.
The ones you see now are the three she accepted…
The images I used we a mixture of shots I took, stock images, and press images of various artists.
Besides that, things are dandy. And hopefully I’ll stop being such a whiny brat…
Later.
