Eviction, and how it affects you…

You know it’s been a slow set of days when you get serious responses to photos like this:
Happy lunch

So, I narrowly missed getting evicted today…

Hows that for catching your attention?

Evidently I was quite literally “A day late and a dollar short.” Seven days and three-hundred dollars, to be exact. But I’m all set now, for those of you who care, with no ill effects. On this note I would like to inform you of the consequences of being evicted. I, myself, was not fully aware of such matters. However, it was rather nice of my landlord to provide me a paper with an easy to understand list:

1. Eviction Court: This will be humiliating, and a matter public record.
2. Dispossession: This also will be humiliating, and a matter of public record.
3. Judgments: This too will be humiliating, and a matter of public record.

I will tell you, the pamphlet was quite helpful and informative, I practically feel like I was there…

Actually, we were all served (Caleb, Danny and I) an eviction notice, and come to find it was primarily Danny’s fault, such a nice change. However, I am sure I didn’t help the matter.

God I have to get out of this house…

As for other matters, I am sick, as of Sunday or so… I feel like crap; I am coughing all the time, tired, my eyes are tired, my breath smells, its a big mess, and Jen’s coming down with something too. To top it all off, we’re getting another freaking snowstorm tonight. We are supposed to get another foot! Fabulous!

I got a job today. More shoe-horned myself into employment actually…

Blood DriveRemember how I kept talking about posters the past few entries? Well, I can officially pull a paycheck with them now. Next step is getting full access to the “Media Pod,” or whatever they call it, so I can actually keep it up to date. Christ, they still have events up on it that expired days ago… It’s not like Pam has anything better to do. :-D

Also, when I was signing up for the job at student activities I saw a job opening for the tech center. So, with any luck, I’ll have two jobs for next year. On top of being an RA-

SPEAKING OF! GAH!!! Everyone kept telling me, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. Well, there have been a few tomorrows, and a few next-weeks, its about damn time they told us, right!? Well, tomorrow is their last chance. As students, we need to enter the resident lottery on Monday, so they have no choice… Tomorrow… And I’ve got no clue! Well… I’ve gotten clues, but they are so mixed its ridiculous!

I asked one of the RD (Resident Directors) what the verdict was, and she said (keep in mind, the RD’s are actually the people who MAKE these decisions, so she should know), “I can’t tell you, I know, but I can’t tell you. I will tell you, you’re going to get a letter tomorrow, and whatever it says, keep your head up, eyes on the goal, and keep pushing forward, you, and only you, know what you are worth.”

Um… Ok… So I didn’t get it? Ok, I’ll work with that…

But then I asked a friend who works in Student Activities, who I suddenly realized had been printing said letters all afternoon (she had some secret project that had her walking to and fro from the res-life office). Well, at first she was tight lipped, but after some finagling I got something: “I think you’ll be very happy.”

. . .

Um…

Ok…

So…. I don’t really know either way… We’ll see tomorrow for sure…
