Guess that means its official. I’m an RA!
I have been on campus for almost two weeks now, and I was sleeping on the futon up until last night. Why, I’m not sure. At first it was because I wasn’t sure I liked the way the room was set up. Then it was because I didn’t want to raise the bed (too lazy) by myself (too lazy to get help). Then, conveniently, once it was raised and everything was ready, I found that my sheets smelt like… well, crap, and I needed to get detergent, a laundry card, etc… and wash them. And now it’s done, and school is in session.
Well, not yet. The freshmen haven’t even arrived yet, not to mention I am still Jen-less, but for me, the ball is rolling. Fun fun.
So summer didn’t go exactly as planned, on the bloging front anyway. Personally this was one of the better summers I have had. I mean, I didn’t come out of it with a penny to my name, but I thoroughly enjoyed it non the less. Spent a lot of time with Jennifer, going to dinner, the movies, horseback riding, swimming, kayaking, biking, riding the bike (different bike), the cottage, hiking, and so on. It was a lot of fun, and I wouldn’t change it for anything, not even those pennies.
Now she just needs to hurry up and get to school.
I was a little disappointed about leaving the beach so soon though. Every summer of my life has been like a really good story, starts out slow, and works up to a crescendo and a grand finale at the end, wrapped up in a nice little package. Not this one. Well, not in the same way. As I said, great summer as a whole, but just different.
Usually, summer is the beach (for me and Mom), and as such, it is all about working up the the Maine Highland Games, and the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival, our two largest events. It’s a pattern I have become accustom to over the years, and this year I left for school the DAY BEFORE the Highland Games, and I can not leave to go to the Bluegrass Festival. So in regards to the beach, it was one big lead up to- nothing… Which sucked. But everything else made up for it, and THEN some.
I already elaborated about Al’s Birthday, which was the only other “event,” per se, this summer. I shot some photographs at my aunt Candy’s Birthday, but I;d rather not talk about that. Then again, there was also:
- The Miss Maine Pageant, Heritage Days Bizarre, Motor Booty Affair, and the release of the iPhone (which I didn’t get, btw). <link>
- The NAMASP.org Fiasco. Which I won.
- I registered my domain for CoverThis Photography
Basically, my summer was eventful.
I didn’t blog as much as I would have liked to, but whatever. I had thought I was going to be able to blog regularly, but instead it was rarely. My bad. Not like anyone reads this stuff anyway.
I do have a few reviews to do, however. I got one of the two Kraft Dance Pads I picked up (for $6 each) working on my PC. The other I stabbed to death with a soldering iron after accidentally desoldering a few resistors…
It works magnificently, and i have been playing Step Mania for the past three days. I currently have 1900+ songs. So if you are on campus, and feeling bored, stop by.
The other things I should review are those cheep little 2gb CF Cards I got in PA. That will be a good review as well. They work flawlessly.
Until then, I leave you with this video tour of my dorm room… Please excuse the video quality, I threw it together in literally 5 minutes from turning the camera on to getting it on [tag]YouTube[/tag], and it was originally intended for Jen only. But whatever. You already know how much I love her, suck it up.
