So, someone had an Anniversary yesterday, and I’ll give you three guesses who it was.
Hell yes, it was Jen and I, and it was amazing!
It wasn’t amazing because we went anywhere, or because we got crazy gifts (HA!), or because we “did” anything “special.” It was just amazing, for what it was.
Notably, it was my first official, and wholly anticipated, Anniversary. I’ve been in a good number of relationships over the years, and a few of them have “crossed” the one-year mark, but not without doubt. This is my first relationship with no turbulence. I mean, we have fought… Like, once… But thats not what I mean here. I mean this is, 100%, no question that Jen and I made it a year straight. And there are no signs, no, nada, zero, signs of quitting… Like, not even the slightest.
Hell yeah.
But thats negative, you know, looking from the… negative side… So enough with that.
Jen and I are great, wonderful, fabulous. We aren’t technically celebrating our anniversary until Saturday (after the canoe trip), but we did some little niceties for the evening.
Now, admittedly, she put a little more into the non-celebration than I did, but there’s no tally. I got her a cute little card, leaving the rest for Saturday, and Jen printed photos and made that nice little collage, above. Jen also surprised me with some candle-lit sparkling grape juice after my floor meeting. Which was awesome.
It was beautiful, and simple. I loved it.
We leave for a canoe trip Friday evening, and when we get back Saturday evening I’m going to take her to…
You didn’t really think I’d tell you beforehand, did you?
You’ll have to wait and see.

Congratulations! Way to lead an exciting life and all that.
